The Lotus Institute has moved to Southern California.  We are happy to be within an easy commute to Deer Park Monastery.

Changes are occurring with our vision of how to be of service to the world in remarkably challenging times.  It is very clear to us that we must find new dharma doors, beyond traditional retreat offerings or days of mindfulness.

While these forms of practice and nourishment will remain an important aspect of our service, we have a deep desire to reach a global multi- cultural and multi-generational audience. 

Many in today’s world find themselves time poor and resource thin.  We are called beyond the Buddhist community and must find easy entry points into the teachings for individuals and institutions.  We must also create new vehicles for those who desire to go deeper into non academic Buddhist studies and practice.

We are exploring real opportunities to offer new forms and modes of the Buddha’s teachings.  We have already introduced the Bodhisavatta Mystery School and meditations & dharma talks on CD & DVD. Our vision is to Beat the Dharma Drum by expanding our multi-media quality and outreach in 2007.

Our first book titled “Loves Garden” and Published by Parallax Press will hit book stores this fall.  It introduces mindfulness practice for couples. It is built on the foundation of self love and extends to loving the world. We will need your help in making it a success by buying it, calling your local bookstore asking them to stock copies and when possible setting up speaking engagements and book signings.

Our bold aspiration is to launch a broadcast strategy aimed at the world’s “Cultural Creatives” an emergent group oriented toward a lifestyle that honors better health, wiser consumption, contemplative practices, respect for the earth and a more just and peaceful society.

We desire to add a fresh voice and style to the dharma in the world.  We intend to create powerful and entertaining experiences for our listeners.  Our dream is to evolve into an internet based media network. We are beginning with a series of innovative podcast.  If you are interested in helping to create this new strategy please check our website and give us your feedback and ideas.

We are currently preparing for Thay’s US Tour and our Lotus schedules for Fall 07 and 2008.  We continue to say thanks for your patience and support as our transition has unfolded into this beautiful direction.
