A Day of Mindfulness with Peggy and Larry Ward at the Minnesota Zen Meditation Center
Walking the Path of Non-Fear "Fearlessness is not only possible, it is the ultimate joy. When you touch non-fear, you are free." — Thich Nhat Hanh Minnesota Zen Meditation Center is pleased to welcome Dharma Teachers Peggy Rowe and Larry Ward for two events devoted to nourishing and deepening our path of practice!
The theme for these weekend events is “Walking the Path of Non-Fear." Many of us may experience a life full of wonderful moments and difficult moments. But for some of us, even when we are most joyful, there is fear behind our joy. We may think that if we ignore our fears, they'll go away. But if we bury our fears in depth consciousness, they continue to affect us and bring us more individual and collective sorrow. Most of humanity lives in a culture of fear. But we have the power to look deeply at our fears, and then fear cannot control us. We can transform our fear through mindfulness practices.
Vietnamese Zen Master Thuong Chieu said, "When we understand how our mind works, the practice becomes easy." It is truly urgent that we face our deep potential for healing and transformation as the lives of all beings are at stake. We will take a profound look at how Buddhist Psychology can help us understand our current suffering and possibilities of practice. Our practices will focus on the direct experience of recognizing, embracing, and looking deeply into the nature and sources of our feelings and perceptions of ourselves, society and our planet. This day will include sitting meditation, a dharma talk, outdoor walking meditation, a silent lunch (lunch will be provided), total relaxation, and experiential practice. Please bring a blanket for the total relaxation part of the program.
$85 for members of MZMC or any other Twin Cities sangha; $100 for nonmembers
