November 1- 4
Let’s share the traditional retreat of the Feast of the Dead, organized by the Comunidad de Plena Consciencia (Mindfulness Community, Mexico). You are invited to meditate on the present moment, connect deeply with your roots, and by the hand of our ancestors, to become calm, to transform and to heal, and to begin again fresh and renewed.
You are invited to a time of deep practice, deep looking and deep humanity in the spirit of our precious earthliness. Everyone can bring something for the altar written in big letters.
We will explore Thich Nhat Hanh’s last talk before his stroke. We will nourish our happiness and insight as we touch the 8 manifestations of our bodies. We will touch the profound nature of reality both individually and collectively. We will ask ourselves why this matters to our lived experience of mindfulness. We will enjoy ways of Mexican indigenous wisdom and ceremony as we come home to our precious lives.
The retreat will start the evening of Thursday, November 1st and end before lunch on Sunday, November 4th. The retreat room and board costs includes 3 nights and vegetarian meals for only USD $200.00. Single rooms are no extra charge so you can let us know if you'd prefer a single or double room.
Peggy and Larry follow a long tradition of offering the Buddha’s teachings without charge, as these teachings are priceless. As part of this tradition those receiving the teachings support the teacher. Therefore we ask that you also please consider making a donation at the retreat according to your means and the value you feel you have received. Suggested Dana is $25 per day or $175 for the retreat and may be paid by cash or check on-site, or via paypal to The Lotus Institute using the link below. Opportunity for Dana or contributions to teachers is welcome but not expected.
