Qigong with Matt | Mindful Movement & Massage

Qigong with Matt

Internal martial arts are meditation in motion. A flowing stillness where awareness is not separate from the world, but fully embodied within it. Where the distinction between stillness and movement begins to dissolve.

Join us for a live qigong class led by Matt Dorma, where we’ll enjoy gentle, easy-to-learn movement, along with breathwork and self-massage, all drawn from the internal martial arts of qigong and tai chi.

In the class, our shared intention is simple: move to feel. We draw attention to the whole body—especially to the parts we often overlook. We move softly, giving ourselves time to notice the subtle details of our body and our surroundings. We don’t push full effort, but instead do a little less so that we can make room for curiosity.

Matt Dorma (he/him)

Matt is a mind/body instructor who teaches mindfulness and wellness through the internal martial arts of qigong and tai chi. He is an ordained member of the Plum Village Order of Interbeing, with the Dharma name True Harmonious Spring of Light, and serves as Director of Communications at the Lotus Institute.

After years of mindfulness practice, a moment of clarity during a Thursday evening tai chi class helped him realize that his aspiration to listen to his body—and, in turn, to himself—could be both simplified and deepened through mindful movement. That insight sparked a path of further study and a desire to share the practice with others.

Matt studies at the Tree of Life Tai Chi Studio in Boston and also online with Thu Nguyen from the Plum Village tradition. As a teacher, communicator, and friend, Matt strives to bring authenticity, humor, helpfulness, and warmth to those around him.
