The Dharma of Genetic Manipulation
with Marisela Gomez
Dear friends,
Please join us on December 17 for our monthly dharma talk, where we’re delighted to welcome Marisela Gomez as our guest teacher. This 90-minute practice includes a guided meditation, the teaching, and space for your questions and reflections.
Description: These are wonderful times that soothe and challenge. On the scientific front, genetic engineering is moving forward. Soon we will be able to prevent incurable illnesses broadly and soothe these types of sufferings. As well, genetically modifying how tall we will be, and potentially the color of our skin, is looming at the edge of this growing body of science. How can we use the ethic of dharma as we push the edges of scientific inquiry and practice? Is our scientific inquiry free from craving, hating, and delusive minds? What does Buddhism and the Middle Way have to say about all this?
